Dolly Parton’s Stampede Invites You to Our FREE Stick Horse Rodeo & Family Fun Day
Children will let their imaginations run wild as they hop on stick horses and compete in rodeo-style events during “Whoadeo” on October 6 in Dolly Parton’s Stampede performance arena in Branson. The free annual event is a Stick Horse Rodeo and Family Fun Day, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
As little cowboys and cowgirls race around obstacles, they also will be encouraged to bring imaginations to life through reading. The event inspires families to read together and 100% of proceeds from that evening’s Stampede performance will benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Stone and Taney counties of Missouri.
Imagination Library is a book gifting program, the creation of Dolly Parton, which has sent more than 100 million free books to children in four countries, including families from Stone and Taney counties in Missouri.
“Although we perform for hundreds of thousands of people annually, what happens on this particular day is one of our favorites,” said Bryan Cossiboom, general manager of Dolly Parton’s Stampede. “It’s a great investment in the imagination of our local children learning to read and just a fun day for families.”
During the “Whoadeo”, children will compete in barrel racing, an obstacle course and a bucking horse contest. Medals will be awarded to all participants because Stampede owner Dolly Parton believes every child is a winner.
Dolly’s Imagination Library ‘Whoadeo’ is a fun event for kids of all ages, plus it’s an opportunity to sign up kids that may not yet be enrolled. There’s nothing better for a child’s mind than reading, so it is Dolly’s wish that with each book, the child will dream more, learn more, care and be more.
Also featured during “Whoadeo” will be kids’ games, face painting, animal exhibitions, as well as giveaways from family attractions and area agencies.
All proceeds from Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner & Show performance that evening, Saturday, October 6th, will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
